Tyler

Hi
all-
Tyler the pug died today. She was 13 1/2 years old.
Tyler had an amazing life and too many adventures to count. She
hiked and camped and swam. She chased horses and cows and bulls.
She escaped from home
many times and had friends and family chase her down. She loved
that "game." She sneezed on alot of folks as well as
emptied various other body fluids on them,
their furniture and their cars. She hosted 12 birthday parties
and raised several hundred dollars for Animal Trustees of Austin.
She never met a stranger. She never ate slowly. She never missed
an opportunity to scream at the top of her lungs when we arrived
at a destination. She could howl like crazy at the name of her
best friend (a hound dog/sheppard mix about 5 times her size).
She could say "I Love You." She cheated death for the
past 4 years. She accepted the birth of Lily with curiosity and
grace.
When
Tyler was about 6 months her and I went hiking along Bull Creek.
Tyler saw a golden lab and, being the fearless "big"
dog she was, she chased it. She made it about half way across
Bull Creek before she was carried away by the creek. The creek
washed her over a 6 foot waterfall, backwards. When she reached
the bottom, she swam to the side like nothing happened, excited
about the ride. A man on her side of the creek climbed down and
got her while I walked across to that side. When he handed her
to me he said it was no problem because "they are your family,
you know?"
Tyler was a deeply loved member of our family and we will miss
her tremendously.
