It's a bird! It's a plane! It's a… pug in a carrot costume?

It's the Austin Pug Club's 3rd Annual Great PUGkin Fest to benefit Pug Rescue. On Saturday, October 22 nd, area pug dogs and their human counterparts will be turning out incognito from 10 A.M. to 1 P.M. at WOODLANDS PARK* (map) for a Halloween costume contest that even Austin's weirdest would appreciate.

Pugs and their owners compete for the honor of being the Most Austintatious, Most Ironic and even the Best Human & Pug group. In past years, the likes of CleoPUGtra, Lance PUGstrong and, of course, Frank look-alikes from the movie Men in Black, turned out to impress the judges.

Proceeds from the event are donated to Pug Rescue efforts, which saves pugs from the entire great state of Texas.

Registration for the Great PUGkin Fest begins at 10 A.M. To enter the costume contest, it is $5 cash donation per pug dog. A prize raffle will also take place during the festivities. There is no charge to come and watch the event and we encourage everyone to come out and get in the Halloween spirit. Judging for the event begins promptly at 11 AM.

You can also pre-register online at http://www.austinpugs.com/events/pugkin-fest/pugkin-registration.htm

For more information about the Austin Pug Club, visit www.austinpugs.com. To learn about adoption, fostering opportunities, or DFW Pug Rescue, visit www.dfwpugs.com.
